A Cult Business Following!

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Well, my last posting (suggesting that, for the good of UK plc, some employment laws should be abolished) caused quite quite a stir! Personnel Today magazine picked up on it and reported that I have gained a “cult business following”! Blimey! Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing?

The magazine then ran an on-line poll asking its readers if they agreed with my suggestions. Many did. Quite right too.

Personnel Today then asked me to write a 650 word article with a bit more detail about which laws we should abolish. Click here to read it: http://www.elliswhittam.com/public/control.php?_path=/381/388/390&_command=/DISPLAY/60/80/What do you think?

The Government was then forced to defend unfair dismissal law in the face of “increasing calls for the legislation to be scrapped”. No prizes for guessing its position! Click here to read what the Government had to say:

Perhaps if we can keep the momentum going we will force the introduction of more employer friendly employment laws? Or is that naïve and wishful thinking?

I’ll copy this posting to both the Blair and Cameron camps and see if they dare to comment. Watch this space.
