Appointed Persons First Aid Course
|
HSE recommended, non-assessed course. This is the minimum level of First Aid training for the workplace, appropriate for low-risk environments or for those acting in the absence of a fully qualified First Aider. It is not a substitute for the First Aid at Work course of 4 days duration.

First Aid at Work 4 Days
|
The course aims to train employees up to the standard required by the Health and Safety Executive for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. On completion of the course, the candidate will be assessed in Practical and Theory aspects of First Aid to the Health and Safety Executive Approved standard. Successful completion of the assessment will result in the award of a 'First Aid At Work' certificate. This will be valid for three years and should be renewed by attending a 2 day refresher course before the expiry date of the certificate.

Mobile Tower Scaffold Course
|
The Work at Height Regulations 2005, require that the assembly, dismantling or alteration of Mobile Tower Scaffold should only be undertaken by a competent person, or if being trained, under the supervision of a competent person. Training includes both classroom based theory and hands-on experience, your staff can develop an awareness of the legal implications, common hazards and precautions, together with the correct inspection, assembly, use, repositioning and dismantling procedures for Mobile Tower Scaffold.

Hand Arm Vibration
|
HAVS stands for Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome. It is caused by excessive, chronic, vibrating exposure to the hands and arms. Characteristics of HAVS are whitening of the fingers, numbness or lack of feeling and tingling ('pins and needles'), reduced grip strength and a reduction in manual dexterity. It is not always the case that an individual will suffer from all of these symptoms. However, it is fair to say that VWF (Vibration White Finger) has received most media attention over recent years.

There is a wide range of mowers in use. If used correctly and maintained properly they should pose very little risk to the operator or to people around the machine. But accidents do happen, often for very simple reasons. Safe Working at Height

In 2003/4 falls from height accounted for 67 fatal accidents at work and nearly 4000 major injuries. They remain the single biggest cause of workplace deaths and one of the main causes of major injury (source HSE). The Work at Height Regulations 2005 requires employers to ensure anyone who supervises or manages work at height or who works at height to receive adequate training in work at height.
