Hand Arm Vibration HAVS stands for Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome. It is caused by excessive, chronic, vibrating exposure to the hands and arms. Characteristics of HAVS are whitening of the fingers, numbness or lack of feeling and tingling ('pins and needles'), reduced grip strength and a reduction in manual dexterity. It is not always the case that an individual will suffer from all of these symptoms. Pedestrian & Gang Mowers There is a wide range of mowers in use. If used correctly and maintained properly they should pose very little risk to the operator or to people around the machine. But accidents do happen, often for very simple reasons. They remain the single biggest cause of workplace deaths and one of the main causes of major injury (source HSE).
